Whimsical Spring Wedding at Terrain Devon in PA

When the bride is a longtime friend and an incredibly talented wedding photographer, you know her wedding day will be one for the books. Sarah (@sarahcanningphoto) and Chad hosting a stunning Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard wedding this spring. I can only hope their wedding gallery fully reflects the depth of their love and the beauty of this day. In my not-so-humble opinion, I think it does 🙊 Today I’m sharing the gorgeous highlights of Sarah and Chad’s wedding at Terrain Devon and some of my favorite venue details from this unique space!

WHAT IS TERRAIN?

Terrain began in 2008 as a celebration of nature inspired by the local garden center. Owned by parent company, URBN, Terrain launched its flagship location, Terrain at Styer’s, in Glen Mills, PA at 914 Baltimore Pike. A decade later, Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard opened its doors, surrounded by premium retailers such as Pizzeria Vetri, Terrain Cafe, Terrain Garden and Home, Anthropologie, and AnthroWeddings. It is URBN’s first-ever lifestyle concept. It also houses a smaller venue space on site called The Atrium. In 2023, the Delaware Valley University campus welcomed Terrain’s third Pennsylvania location: Terrain Gardens at DelVal in Doylestown, PA.

Our gatherings reflect the cycle of the seasons and the bounty of the land, capturing the beauty of all things grown. At each of our venues, a picturesque, garden-centric setting is paired with menus inspired by local growers.

OVERVIEW OF TERRAIN GARDENS AT DEVON YARD

Just 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia, Terrain at Devon Yard is the perfect indoor outdoor garden venue on the Main Line for Philly couples. This one-of-a-kind location beautifully merges the warm yet modern fixtures of the interior with the vibrant and inviting features of the outdoor space. The structured black framing of the garden center gives the feel of a more modern wedding venue while the trailing vines hung with fairy lights beautifully soften the whimsical outdoor ceremony space.

Terrain Devon has a 140-guest seated capacity with a dance floor. The Atrium has a 66 seated/100 standing capacity.

COCKTAIL HOUR AND WEDDING RECEPTIONS AT TERRAIN

Cocktail Hour at Terrain Devon is a feast for the eyes and the stomach! Beautifully garnished wooden trays of appetizers and refreshing signature drinks circulated throughout Sarah and Chad’s lively cocktail hour.

Terrain’s in-house catering sources fresh, local ingredients, staying true to its mission of creating an immersive natural experience for its customers. All of Terrain’s menu options can be paired with signature cocktails and hand-selected wines.

Wedding receptions at Terrain Devon are on another level. Sarah and Chad chose a timeless and elegant reception setup with long banquet tables taking center stage underneath twinkling market lights and hanging greenery.

The tablescapes were created using a muted neutral color palette and vibrant greenery. Glass hurricanes with elegant white taper candles intermixed with small votives served as centerpieces.

The true showstopper was the large floral arch set against reclaimed barn doors that framed the sweetheart table. PA Wedding Florist Amanda Suda (@helianthusandlace) perfectly executed this floral install, which also served as the wedding ceremony backdrop!
