One of the most commonly asked questions I get is "Where should we have our photoshoot?" I always encourage my clients to choose somewhere that feels like you and to think outside the box a bit. Maybe your gorgeous venue or you have a friend, family member, or coworker that has access to a beautiful farm or property that you wouldn't have thought of initially. But, if you want to know my favorites in the Lancaster and Harrisburg area that are free, not super busy, and close by - check out my list below!
Alyssa and Jim's engagement session felt like a mini-vacation! Mike and I ventured down earlier in the day to take in the sights and then met up with Alyssa and Jim in Old City Philadelphia at Elfreth's Alley, which is the oldest residential street in the nation. How cool is that!! The joy and love they have for each other absolutely shines on their faces and we had SO much fun hanging out with them! October needs to get here fast for their wedding at the Farm at Eagles Ridge! I can't freaking wait!!
I'm so glad Darcey and Andrew requested a springtime flowery engagement session because GUYS - THOSE TREES AND FLOWERS THO! They're absolutely lovely together and they're furparents to the cutest boxer pup, Ruger! I'm so excited for their wedding at Heritage Hills next spring!
Sarah and David have an incredible story that is right out of a romance novel! Writing is not my forte, so I'm going to let Sarah tell you more about why they chose downtown Harrisburg as a walk down memory lane for their engagement photos...
Meeting Alyssa was like talking to a friend you've known for years. She's a blast to talk to and we have a ton of things in common! We're both cat moms and huge Harry Potter nerds - yesss! I had an amazing afternoon going around with her and Chris to all of the gorgeous spots at the Capitol building. They looked like total royalty with our Capitol escort and me following them around with a big camera. I loved Chris's bold blue suit and Alyssa's gorgeous black dress (with pockets - heck yes!). Total Will and Kate vibes. Can't wait for their wedding at the Capitol this fall!
It's so rare that I get to photograph a session in the snow! Rachel and Scott kept each other warm and guys - look how dreamy! The Harrisburg Capitol Building was transformed into a snowy ice palace! Their June wedding at the West Shore Country Club is bound to be lovely and warm so they got the best of both worlds. :-)
Could you ask for a glowier sunset at an engagement session? Sam and Markus are romance novel cover worthy! They're such a fun couple! Can't wait to see them all gussied up at their wedding at the Eden Resort this summer!
Ryan went to school at Franklin and Marshall in Lancaster so I thought it would be the perfect setting for his and Megan's engagement session last fall! They literally look like they walked out of a J. Crew catalog. I love it! I can't wait for their big day at Historic Acres of Hershey this summer!
Emily and Joshua are so unbelievably adorable together, I couldn't even handle myself. They're like two magnets that are totally in sync with each other and photographing their love was a DREAM! And guys - Joshua brought his guitar! Cue the swooning! October needs to hurry up because I can't wait for their big day at Brick Gables!
Samantha and Jordan are the sweetest! They braved the cold and fog for a gorgeous engagement session at Long's Park in Lancaster in the fall. And guys - they have a fluffy pet bunny! How cool is that? They're going to make such a beautiful bride and groom at their summer wedding at Bell Mountain Estates!
