A Garden Wedding Straight From a Storybook
You know that “describe your perfect date” meme from Miss Congeniality? Well I’d like to request a permanent revision from April 25 to April 26th. Megan and Brendan’s late April wedding at Appleford really and truly was the perfect day. The vibe?

Their Love Story: From the Alps to the Aisle
Megan and Brendan have the most romantic engagement story; after their proposal in the Swiss Alps (swoon!) they spent their engagement closer to home planning a tented outdoor wedding at Appleford Estate. They kept things simple with a siblings only wedding party and about 100 of their closest friends and family members in attendance.
Why Appleford Estate Was “The One”
For a wedding venue in the Philadelphia suburbs, Appleford truly whisks you away into this magical little pocket of secluded perfection. The romantic gardens, classic architecture, and rain-friendly interiors made it a perfect fit for a day of unpredictable weather.
I recently wrote about a rainy fall wedding day at The Willows at Ashcombe where the overcast weather only brightened skin tones and made the greenery more vibrant. Megan and Brendan’s day was no different.
As if Appleford Estate’s incredible grounds and amenities aren’t enough on their own, there was also a personal connection involved in their venue selection process. One of Appleford’s staff used to babysit Megan back in the day. ❤️ They found me via Appleford’s preferred vendor list (mutual love!)

Design Details: Sage Green Pastel Perfection
I don’t know about you, but this whole garden party wedding gallery gives me Jane Austen vibes. Something about the rain soaked brick, the misty gardens, and the sun breaking through a sea of green just transports me into an English garden fairytale circa the 18th century. The one-story stone cottage on the property was first constructed in 1782, so maybe I’m onto something?
Guests gathered under an elegant white tent for the reception portion of the evening. Sage green linens and pastel florals graced each table and warm market lights glowed softly overhead.
Spring florals and the hand-painted stationery from Hand Painted Weddings brought the garden feel indoors, emphasizing the elegance and timeless touches woven throughout the day.
